Six months after Jailbreak, Thin Lizzy unleashed Johnny The Fox.A far more balanced hard rock album, Johnny The Fox finally showcased the guitar talents of Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. The guitar work on Jailbreak just came over a little too refined, but on Thin Lizzy's sixth album the pair were really going for it and cutting loose. The solos almost sound like wild jams and very full of /5(3).
  2. Zulurn says:
Johnny The Fox was Thin Lizzy's seventh studio album. The album was written and recorded while bassist/vocalist Phil Lynott was recovering from a bout of hepatitis that put him off the road halfway through the Jailbreak tour/5(23).

Overall, "Johnny the Fox" is a very underrated but superb and excellent album from Thin Lizzy, and is also the second of four "classic" releases that these legendary Irish rockers put out in the 70's which also include 's "Jailbreak", 's "Bad Reputation", and 's "Black Rose"/5().
  4. Kigamuro says:
The twin guitars are Lizzy's musical meat and potatoes, and each song on Johnny the Fox is carefully woven with rhythm and lead lines that stick to the ribs. At times Lizzy's guitar attack becomes overbearing—as on the syncopated throwaway "Boogie Woogie Dance" and the labored introductions to "Rocky" and "Massacre"—but it is more often.

Anyways, "Jailbreak" is the sixth album from Thin Lizzy (which came out in ), and it broke the legendary Irish hard rockers into the U.S. and it became the band's most successful and popular album to date, and also one of the greatest hard rock albums of the 70's as well/5().
